Kamala Harris

 Kamala Devi Harris was born on October 20 1964. She is an American politician. Harris is the first female vice president and highest-ranking female official of U.S. History, as being the first African American and second Asian American vice president. As a part of the Democratic Party, she previously was the attorney general for California from 2011 until 2017 and was a United States senator representing California from 2017 to 2021. Harris was born in Oakland. Harris received her law degree from Howard University. After establishing her career as an Alameda County District Attorney, Harris was hired to the San Francisco District Attorney's Office. Then she was appointed the City Attorney of San Francisco. In 2003 she was elected San Francisco District Attorney. She was elected Attorney general of California in the year 2010. In 2014, she was re-elected. Harris was the United States junior senator from California from 2017 until 2021. Harris beat Loretta Sanchez in the 2016 Senate election to become the 2nd African American woman and the first South Asian American to serve in the United States Senate. As a senator, Harris advocated for federal de-scheduling of healthcare, and cannabis legalization which could lead to the citizenship for undocumented immigrants as well as the DREAM Act which bans assault weapons. She is most famous for her sharp questions to Trump administration officials in Senate hearings.
